In-between Worlds

This collection of work spans a variety of settings, both in the studio and on location. Through collaborations with artists from diverse disciplines, these projects explore a range of themes. All the pictures are created in camera only, using lighting effects and physical setups. Topics range from the representation of the female form to unusual still life compositions. 

Collaborators include musician Charlotte Burke, painter and film director Frederico Penteado, with selected stills from his film The Aethernauts, and body makeup artist Agnes Guo 郭前前, whose intricate work features on Yan 赵晏.

The creative philosophy behind these images emphasises photography as a visionary medium and one that is deliberate, technically masterful, and conceptually linked to the traditions of painting. By pushing the boundaries of what photography can convey through artistic integration, the work achieves a sense of magic.
